All businesses conducting business transactions or operations within the City must obtain a City of Gilroy business license.

If your business is currently not registered or is non-compliant with the City’s business license requirements, we strongly encourage you to become compliant under the Amnesty Program by November 30, 2024.

This program offers a unique opportunity to come into compliance without incurring penalties or interest.

This past summer, the City, in partnership with HdL Companies, began a compliance initiative to assist non-compliant businesses in meeting the City’s business license requirements. As part of this effort, over 400 businesses have successfully become compliant, and we appreciate their cooperation. Businesses are encouraged to take advantage of this program sooner rather than later as the Amnesty Program waives all penalties and interest through November 30, 2024.
