Linkages & Partnerships within the Tourism Industry

Strategic collaborations shape Gilroy’s tourism industry. From the Poppy Jasper International Film Festival to the Bay Area Travel and Adventure Show, here are some insights showing the impact of recent partnerships.

Poppy Jasper International Film Festival: Showcasing Gilroy’s Charms

In Gilroy, the 18th annual Poppy Jasper International Film Festival brought filmmakers and industry guests to the surrounding area in mid-April. In the flurry of events and screenings, guests also explored Gilroy and what we have to offer. Last year, the festival’s impact transcended screens when a visiting film director’s TikTok video about her Gilroy Gardens adventure garnered nearly 5 million views. While growing her online engagement, she boosted exposure to our unique theme park that highlights Gilroy’s agricultural roots. This unexpected spotlight shows the power of partnership between local entities like Gilroy Gardens and the Poppy Jasper International Film Festival.

Bay Area Travel and Adventure Show: Connecting with Enthusiasts

Visit Gilroy participated in the Bay Area Travel and Adventure Show in March, with over 9,000 travel enthusiasts in attendance. Returning to the Bay Area after a 2-year hiatus, the Travel Show was an opportunity to familiarize trade show attendees, media, and industry peers with the new exciting aspects of Gilroy. Engaging with both consumers and industry professionals, we expanded our audience and made valuable connections. Notably catching the eye of industry peers was the innovative Wine Trail Pass Deck, from the Wineries of Santa Clara Valley, which underscores their dedication to promoting our region’s rich culinary and viticulture heritage. The Wine Trail Pass Deck offers discounts for tastings and purchases along the Santa Clara Valley Wine Trail, further enhancing Gilroy’s appeal as a desirable destination for wine enthusiasts and travelers alike. This face-to-face experience at the trade show was an opportunity to exchange ideas and educate people about everything new in Gilroy, while also hearing local consumers’ direct feedback and current knowledge of Gilroy.

Embracing Collaboration for Growth

These efforts emphasize collaboration, innovation, and community engagement in Gilroy. By leveraging the collective strengths of local businesses and organizations, Gilroy continues to position itself as a dynamic hub for culture, commerce, and adventure. As we look ahead, let’s continue to nurture these partnerships and embrace new opportunities for growth and prosperity. Together, we can cultivate a vibrant, resilient community that thrives on creativity, connectivity, and collective success.
